Mac Fans

I mean I am getting sick of Mac fans, not because they are fanatic, but that they are sucked into a unilateral thinking objective. I mean if I talk I hear Mac vs PC. PC stands for Personal Computer, rendering Macintosh as a PC. It doesn't stand for, Windows Computer. That would be Mac vs WC. Ubuntu also isn't part of Mac vs PC vs Ubuntu. Its Windows vs OS X vs Ubuntu, with versions. Or even, Brand of Windows computer, Macintosh, and brand with Ubuntu. I mean obviously Mac is going to win. The software is built around the Hardware. Windows and Ubuntu can render on nearly any Intel or AMD computer. So thats not fair is it?

No one is going to tell me that a Mac Book Air, a netbook, is worth $999, bare. While a fully built Lemur from System76, is worth 599. Thats $400, and the cheaper is better hardware wise.

If you're a Macboy, I mean buy whatever you want. But just don't spread rumors. Or propaganda. Or sometimes I hear some marketing propaganda. If you really believe in this injustice, then please do. But don't spread marketing propaganda, total bs, or rumors.

You want to do that, please do that in the Mac fanboy forums.
Thank you
~J

I hope this opens a lot of eyes, and closes some mouthes, so truth can spread. Buy a Mac, no problem, marketing lies in my ears, thats something totally different. I also will put a few pics of my setup.

I tried getting my Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 working, but didn't know how to use it so I don't know what to do.

My Wallpaper,
Lucky for me I made it turn my dock black so I knew I was in my workspace switcher. By using the program MyUnity and clicking Smart Thinker, which changes as it goes.. PS I have 4, like every other Ubuntu user.
I'm an Ubunut(lol) but I don't lie about it. I mean fan-boys are just sucked into a marketing scheme, not that they are bad people.

Fedora 15 Replacement Ubuntu 11.10 Beta 1

I don't have a graphics card that is appropriate for Fedora 15, so I believe this will be of Ubuntu 11.10 Beta 1. I like how they are expanding it. Ease of use, makes it a wanted distro for me. I dislike how it does its own new Dash, but the rest is very blossom-able to me. I will give you the pictures, but no score or anything, as this is a work in progress.

Changes:
Dash
Software Center
** Very Important ** To be discussed later
Radiance is very nice
Gnome 3 under Unity
I believe that they use GTK 3 now. But I might just move it back to 2.x so I can do my stuff.
Ambiance Radiance look very nice now.

The new Login screen, it is a move that fits for what Ubuntu stands for
"Humanity towards others" which basically is a Motto we will cater the less powerful Linux users, for Windows and Mac users. So even though I might take a year of school to take all of the source of Ubuntu and mix it up to make a "homebrewed" OS. But I like where it is going. It is going to a place where I can be very happy. And many other people can be. Even though the play out has been Old Linux users ~ Debian, Mint, Fedora  New ~ Ubuntu. So you can see that Ubuntu is taking all of the newer users, and many people who want to see some Unity, like I. I would like XFCE and KDE. But always had GNOME.  But Unity and Gnome is like me and my old Mac liking. I had a liking for mac back then. But back to Ubuntu 11.10. Was giving some information, on why I have my likes with Ubuntu and am not a Unity disliker. You can always uninstall it! So just showing where I come from, so it is known that when it comes to me and Ubuntu it is biased, even though I try my best not to be.

So to a few pictures, they will not be cropped so you will see 11.04 around it.

Not my Picture!

So many changes. As to what I have to say, Great job Ubuntu, but many other distros are coming up to get you.

Farewell ~ J

Mint

So August 9th will be Mint! I will be downloading it overnight. Debian will be August 16th. Then I want to do a compilation of SuperTuxKart, Google Earth, and some Virtual-Box! That will be the 23rd. And the 30th for the end will be open to comments to how this blog can be better. So please leave a comment and follow us. Soon we will have a twitter and facebook. So until then, thank you and if you're new to the world of Open Source, then happy playing, programming, facebooking?, and welcome to the world of Linux!

Ubuntu 11.04 review

Ubuntu Review

GUI
I have now tried Ubuntu for some time. I personally like the Unity setup, but many have not been able to switch. That reason is because of demand of Gnome a GUI that has become one of the most popular GUI in the world, let alone the GNU~Linux World, it is the most popular GUI. While using a GTK engine on Ubuntu. The Ubuntu allows you to program in GTK and use Gnome as the output. This allows for more Universal setups, but when Oneiric comes with Gnome 3. This will change the whole setup. You can always uninstall the Unity Shell. Its only a shell, not a GUI. Back to the GUI, the most controversial decision for a Windows user.

Ubuntu Unity

Gnome 3 in Fedora 15.

GUI 8.5/10

Now to the package management.

In Ubuntu the easiest way to get software, is a piece of software. Its Ubuntu Software Center. Its automatically served onto your system. Also the special software that would work through terminal or software that you need to download would be.

sudo apt-get install oneko
I used oneko cause its a favorite easy to use terminal ran program.

Then when ran

So the packages, the downloaded packages, would be done by Archive Manager automatically, or you can save it and do it by yourself. By doing the tar command. I have only used tar only once, that was for XAMPP, Linux Apache MySQL Python PHP.
Package Management 9.5/10 ~ not the easiest way, but one of the lightest ways to download.

Drivers:

Now drivers, the great thing of Linux drivers is that it uses CUPS "CUPS is the standards-based, open source printing system developed by Apple Inc. for Mac OS® X and other UNIX®-like operating systems." ~ CUPS

Well there are a few others, but by far CUPS is the most useful. Without CUPS, there would be chaos, so later I will go onto the others.

Drivers 9.5/10

The overall score is a 9.5, Ubuntu is humanity to others in psychology of African tribes. So this would be named for its user-friendliness. Ubuntu is the most wide used Open Source Operating System. The 3rd most widely used OS. The most used Server OS for home servers.
So this concludes this September 2nd review, the reason its written early as I will not be back until the 9th.

Overall 9/10
Thats it for now. Next week will be on Linux Mint 11. Then Fedora 15.  The top 3 most downloaded in this month.
